The Gmail connection is listed in Connect Apps → Marketplace. Its presence in the catalog does not mean an account has been connected.
Ask for a Gmail connection card
Ask the agent: “Show me the Gmail connection card for sending email. Wait for me to authorize it; do not send a message yet.” See Connect apps through an agent for the card flow and its role/capability requirements. This does not add inbox-reading access.
Find Gmail in Settings
- Open Settings → Connect Apps.
- Choose Marketplace.
- Search for Gmail and inspect its card.
- Start connection only when you are ready to authorize the displayed account and permissions.
The catalog’s Connected tab is where you check existing connections. The documentation demo had none connected.
Understand the boundary
Clero’s current published policy describes Gmail sending permission and explicitly excludes inbox-content reading through this connection. Do not build an inbox search or triage workflow around the Gmail card. Read the Gmail policy details.
If a task requires incoming-message context, provide the relevant text yourself when you are authorized to use it. A pasted message gives context for that task; it does not grant continuing mailbox access.
Prepare a message
Start by reviewing the text in chat:
Draft a reply to the customer question below. Use only the product facts I provide. Keep it under 150 words and flag missing information. Show the draft here.
Before requesting a send, specify the recipient, subject, final content, and sending account. Check all four again if the agent presents a proposed action.
Confirm a send separately
Inspect the reported status and, where available, the sent message in the account used. Do not equate a draft in chat with a provider draft or a sent email.
If the connection fails, capture the visible error without including credentials and use Connection troubleshooting. The authorization screens and live sending path have not been exercised in the documentation demo.
